Van Backeris

As cofounder of Alogic-US, Van acts as a software selection and implementation consultant.  He is a master in the art of business process re-engineering and is adept at leading lean office initiatives.  He brings a patient teaching approach to helping users understand ERP functionality and adapt to new procedures.

Van began his career during the mini-computer era of the late 70’s designing manufacturing, accounting, and distribution applications and managing software development teams. He is both APICS and MCE certified with vast experience in database administration and programming, encompassing both old and new languages.

Since 1984 he has focused his efforts on learning and implementing a diverse list of ERP systems including; Syspro, Epicor 9, Vantage, Exact Macola, IFS, SAP Business One, and Role-Based ERP.

Before founding Alogic-US, Van was cofounder of several software application companies, including MFG Systems and Century Data Corporation (CDC).  The former, MFG Systems, was a joint venture with Effective Management Systems (EMS) of Milwaukee Wisconsin, and marketed and implemented the EMS Time Critical Manufacturing (TCM) system throughout the mid-Atlantic region. 

CDC, on the other hand, developed and marketed the first wave of micro-computer based business software, such as CDC-1, which included point-of-sale, purchasing, bill of materials, shop floor control and job costing. In three years, CDC-1 was implemented in over 350 different companies and is still in use by many companies today.

Van is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. in mathematics.
